About Us
In the beginning….
Caribbean- Kitchen Ltd is founded by married couple Ann-Marie and Rohan Griffiths in 2013. The restaurant is in Hackney, East London but the locals commonly know the area as Cambridge Health.
We stumbled upon the empty, neglected shop front and fell in love with its potential. Of course we called on family and friends to help us renovate the premises and Cafe Heath was born in late 2013.
We prepare our food with love and hope to bring people and cultures together.
What's in a name?
The name 'Cafe Heath' was simple, we were in 'Cambridge Heath' after all. We wanted to serve our community and represent our vision.
We welcomed visitors and wanted then to stay. We were an eat-in Caribbean restaurant & takeaway but the name suggested a cafe-style eatery.
In 2016, after much deliberation, we changed the name to Caribbean - Kitchen Ltd. The new name better represented the delicious mix of authentic Caribbean flavours and classic British & Vegetarian dishes we served.
